Some of you may know that I have two cats. Or, to be more precise, around 15 years ago, my then 10 year-old daughter talked me into getting two cats. (By the way, when your child promises to look after pets and their every needs, it's a downright lie but that's beside the point). Did you know that taking one cat to the vet while the other one stays at home is a nightmare? Apparently. the smell of the vet on the first cat so confuses the second one that they no longer recognise each other and immediately declare war. So you then have the situation where two sister cats, who have been together for 15 years, suddenly become strangers and start hissing and scratching the bejasus out of each other. Cats keep finding new ways to annoy me.

I have come up with a few potential solutions.
1. Take no.2 cat to the vet, so both cats smell the same again. 2. Shave no.1 cat, thus removing different smelling fur. 3. Insert cotton wool balls into no.2 cat's nostrils so it can't smell no.1 cat. 4. Wash both cats in the washing machine, negating any odour difference.
I'm not sure if any of these will work...I've never been allowed pets.

Here's an odd thing about cats, and soil, and possibly about science. Our old cat, whom I loved dearly but obviously in a human/pet scenario, nothing kinky, died at a ripe old age, and in keeping with tradition I buried him in the garden but the odd thing was this. I removed "x" amount of soil and replaced said soil with "y" being the cat and "x" being the soil previously removed, which might lead you to conclude a small mound was formed i.e. replacing "x" with "x" and "y" causing a small bump in an otherwise perfect landscape. But no, no mound but rather...[for dramatic effect]...a hollow was formed, which is now known as Misty hollow, and to which I utter a small but sincere apology every time I run over it with the mower. Explain that Einstein and I might be more interested in this relativity thingie I'd say, but he's dead too so there is not much point.
